You’re moving into a house with home security alarms
A new home may come with an installed security system. All the devices function well, are placed in the correct areas, and are ready to go. In this instance, just pick up the phone to call and establish a new service contract. A Vivint installer will still come to your home to ensure there are no usability problems, and they could offer options on upgrades. It's a fast appointment, and you can have your monitoring set up without paying for any new components -- unless you get some new devices.
The previous homeowners can transfer an existing Vivint contract to you for a nominal transfer cost to make the transfer easier. If the outgoing residents are moving to an apartment complex or smaller home, you keeping the home security contract may be a condition of the sale.
You are looking to move and bring your old components with you
You might want to bring along your favorite smart devices with you to a new place when you move. That’s pretty easy to do, as many components are plug and play. You can uninstall each component by yourself or use a professional expert to come and dismantle everything. Then an expert will set up the same features -- and any smart devices you want to add -- in the new home. And your home security contract will stay the same.
